The company has acquired a minority stake in Magia Products, its distributor in the country, which will help the company to explore new growth opportunities in the area
Madrid, 26 November 2014.- Mahou San Miguel has acquired a stake of 33.5% in Magia Products, its Chilean distributor which currently caters to both on trade and off trade channels throughout the country and markets the Mahou, Alhambra and Solán de Cabras ranges across more than 2,000 points of sale.
Through this operation, the brewery will provide the distributor with the resources needed to develop the full potential of its brands in Chile, a strategic country for Mahou San Miguel where sales evolution is proving very positive.
Positive growth forecasts
In 2013, the first year of marketing in the country, Mahou exceeded sales forecasts and at the end of 2014 the forecasts continue to look very good. In fact, Chile has become one of the brand’s most important markets going forward.
This operation brings Mahou San Miguel closer to the Chilean market and its consumers, building a solid local platform from which to explore and tackle new growth opportunities in the country and also in the rest of Latin America.
